Our Story

DOTS AND LINES is a social enterprise and as co-founders of this start-up, the journey of setting it up has been full of learning and satisfaction.

It was a time when both of us were aiming at a change in our respective careers. The desire to be in the space of promotion of handmade products has been a ‘half-baked’ one for years. During our interactions, we expressed our liking to attempt something productive in this field.

Getting into the loop of understanding the finer aspects of the handicraft sector was interesting as both of us had an admiration for the sheer beauty of Indian handicrafts. We wanted such pieces of amazing craft to touch the lives of a larger population. Thus started the search for ways and means to develop our business idea to popularise Indian handmade crafts and products. We sat down to find a full picture to the idea in our mind. We knew it was a definite possibility but wanted to have a working business model and better clarity of its USP.

It is said that troubled times make you think differently and act smart. Lockdowns and isolations due to the pandemic opened up new ways of interacting and conversing with people in the digital world. The ideation process took time but the execution was much faster.

Regular meetings and networking with artisans and resource persons turned our days into full-blown activity. But we enjoyed it. And there it was, taking full shape during the pandemic. It taught us an essential lesson that perseverance and sustained efforts do result in good beginnings.

We look forward to you experiencing the same happiness as we did while exploring, knowing, and procuring such creative products. We invite you to join us in our journey. We hope you will enjoy being part of it.
